About the Course
Self-care is for everyone. It doesn’t need to be overbearing. It's about developing a willingness to take moments for ourselves whether alone or in community. To stop and connect to our heartbeat. To consider addressing our own needs. When we figure out how to do this for ourselves, we can model that out in the world, in our workplaces, communities, and homes—moving away from an individualistic sense of self-care.
In this course, you’ll learn how to:
- Reclaim the definition of self-care
- Use your practice out in the world
- Transform self-care into a passionate movement for everyone
- Push against a culture that tries to keep us busy
- Address your own needs so you can return to the world as a kinder, gentler version of yourself
This course includes:
- 15+ video classes on four core topics:
- What is Real Self-Care?
- Naming the Obstacles to Self-Care
- Recognizing Burnout
- Building a Self-Care Community
- Downloadable resource guide
- A series of micro-practices
- A FREE copy of Shelly Tygielski's new book Sit Down to Rise Up (Order by October 31 to secure your free copy!)
About the Book
The practice of mindfulness is most often touted for its profound mind, body, and spirit benefits. Shelly Tygielski here shows that mindfulness can also be a powerful tool for spurring transformative collective action. In a winning combination of memoir, manifesto, and how-to, Tygielski shares her evolution from a Jerusalem-born child of traditional Sephardic Orthodox parents to a middle-class American suburban youth who questioned her faith to a young executive in corporate America. As she used self-help practices to heal from chronic health issues and a messy divorce, she had an epiphany: finding true health and peace is not a solo endeavor but one that lives in connection with others. Tygielski considers herself an unlikely meditator, activist, and teacher. But in that way she is uniquely qualified to speak to all today who wonder, “What can I do?” or “Will my actions even make a difference?” Tygielski’s work began as “me” work and transformed into “we” work. In Sit Down to Rise Up, she shows that this is possible for all of us
